Mandy & Lou's House

This house has been designed to compliment the existing site located in the Adelaide Hills. It is located in a "Bushfire Prone Area" and was designed to comply with regulations set out by the Council and Country Fire Service. The form of the house is complimentary to the site with a roof form that slopes in the opposite direction to the site fall, creating a mezzanine library/study area. The living areas face the "spectacular views" as described to the architect Bohdan Dorniak by the clients.
The clients were owner builders, they organised various subcontractors with help from friends and the architects. The residence has achieved high comfort conditions in the relatively harsher conditions of the Adelaide Hills climate.
