The Hockerton Housing Project is 5 one-family houses build in a row. The north face is sheltered from the weather by a thick layer of earth, while the south face is set behind a greenhouse, which works doubly as both a heat generator and a shelter from the weather.

The project is owner-build.
The overall aim is to be selfsufficient, as regards energy, heat, treating waste products, and this has been achieved.
