Australian style farmhouse overlooking the granite hills of Harcourt North. Two guest suites provided in an adjacent building. One with disabled access. Building incorporates recycled materials. Passive solar design, including well-sealed single-glazed timber and aluminimum windows. The house has a maintenance free exterior, and is designed to suit this termite prone area. Exterior finishes durable and maintenance free. The owners love their calm house, and the evenness of the temperature inside through hot Australian summers and cold winters.

Modified timber post & beam. Straw bale infill. Reinforced with chicken wire, and cement rendered.

Concrete raft slab. No insulation.

No floor insulation. Straw bale wale insulation R10. Ceiling R4 blow in cellulose fibre. Foilbacked polyester blanket under the roofing iron providing insulation and condensation barrier.
