When I conceived of my house I had the intention of leaving a very light footprint on the planet. I worked with a feng shui consultant who dowsed my block to maximize the orientation and energy potential of my house and garden. We used earth acupuncture and a cleansing ritual to work with the energies of the land. The architect and my astrologer worked in with us also. It's a simple house, but I wanted it that way so that I could use the space fluidly. The sense of blending inside and outside was very important. Windows are positioned to maximize this. Also I have a high curved ceiling that reflects light & a large circle window high up on the eastern wall. When it's full moon, at some stage the moon can be seen through the circle window and it casts a big circle of light in the centre of the main room.  My building project drew many of my friends into it as they supported me through a difficult, marvellous and exciting journey - spiritually, emotionally, and physically. I live in this house alone, but many people visit.

Klima
Winters are wet - lots of rain, temperatures around 15 deg.C
Summers are very hot and dry - heat-waves are not uncommon, temperatures around 35 - 42 deg.C
Spring is beautifully warm.
Autumn is rainy

Konstruktion, fundament, isolering
House is a north-western facing, passive solar design - wide eaves, internal thermal mass (brick wall & concrete floor), low north facing windows & high south facing windows for air flow, fans for cooling, 16 photovoltaic cells for electricity, Solar hot water, water tanks for drinking water & the garden & a water efficient toilet.
The house has an internal wooden frame & is clad with corrugated iron. It's essentially one big room - 6m x 9m, with a bathroom/ laundry and bedroom attached on. The ceilings are curved and clad with mini orb. They are 4m high in the centre of the curve. There is a small loft /storage area above the bathroom.
The garden is full of colourful, water efficient, native plants, & I have a vegetable garden that feeds me all year round. I've just started planting fruit trees. The water tank overflow is channelled into the garden so it's like a dry creek, surrounded by water plants. The creek flows in winter time. Frogs & large lizards live here and sometimes a turtle may visit from the local creek.

Floating concrete slab, with iron oxide polished onto the surface. Provides thermal mass.

Walls and ceiling are insulated with Aircell (it's like a bubble wrap that's coated in alfoil). Reasonable efficient for these climatic conditions.
