Religious considerations to be surveyed
05. feb. 2010 13.16 EnglishThe president of the Parliamentary Committee on Integration Affairs, Karen Jespersen (Venstre) wants the committee to study the extent of religious considerations and demands in day care institutions, schools, and public sector workplaces.
These considerations might include banning men from parent-teacher conferences, no-boys gym classes, shower curtains in locker rooms, no-pork lunches in day care institutions, etc.
Karen Jespersen says it's important not to make concessions on fundamental principles such as freedom and equality.
The proposal is guaranteed backing from a parliamentary majority.
