Women love part-time jobs
01. mar. 2010 09.44 English30 percent of female employees in the public sector work part time. The trend holds true for all women, regardless of age. Both the young women, and the older women whose children have left the house years past, writes Danish Confederation of Trade Unions newsletter A4.
Around 30 percent of all women employed in municipalities and the Danish regions work less than 33 hours a week. While 80 percent of male employees work 37 hours a week, only 53 percent of women work full time.
The situation might impact public welfare, thinks chairman of the Local Government Denmark staff committee and mayor of Høje Taastrup, Michael Ziegler (Konservative).
