PM wants joint EU opt-outs referendum
08. mar. 2010 14.10 EnglishThe Danish population will have to decide on all four EU opt-outs in one fell swoop once a referendum is arranged.
Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen agrees with Minister for Foreign Affairs Lene Espersen, who rejects picking out individual opt-outs for referenda.
Either, voters will have one vote which will decide the fate of all four opt-outs, or each of the four opt-outs could be listed individually on the ballot - Lars Løkke Rasmussen has not yet decided which model he likes best.
Denmark's current economic situation precludes entry into the European Union Economic and Monetary Union at the present time.
