Cancer patients offered new treatment

09. mar. 2010 09.39 English Opdat.: 09. mar. 2010 09.40

When all ordinary treatment options have been exhausted, many cancer patients previously paid thousands of Kroner for alternative treatment in, for instance, China.

According to chief physician at Copenhagen University Hospital, Morten Mau-Sørensen, alternative treatment options changed that situation.

- There might still be patients where it is hard to find a treatment option, but the situation is very different from what it was like five years ago, he says.

65-year old Anette Nielsen from Slangerup has cancer of the thymus. She takes one pill a day, and the development of the cancer seems to be suspended.
