Christian H. Hansen founds new party
10. mar. 2010 15.25 EnglishIndependent Member of Parliament Christian H. Hansen will attempt to have a new party name added to the ballot for the next elections. The party will focus its efforts on improved animal welfare, better care for hospital patients, and a healthy environment for future generations, according to a draft of the party platform which DR News has had access to.
Christian H. Hansen has been a Member of Parliament for Dansk Folkeparti since 1998. In January, he left the party in a protest over the party line on climate change and environmental issues. Additionally, he stated that the party, at a time of serious economic crisis, spend too much time discussing burkas.
After a couple of months as an independent Member of Parliament, he is now ready to found a new party. It has not been possible to attain any information as to who else might be joining the new party.
