Torrent protection costs billions
02. sep. 2010 14.50 EnglishThe Danish Construction Association proposes the establishing of a national action plan to prevent future flooding in case of torrential rains.
According to the proposal, the government and Parliament should set up a DKK 15 billion foundation to ensure the quality of sewers and drains. And municipalities should be given the chance to borrow a further DKK 15 billion to finance the work.
The Danish Construction Association estimates that solving the problem would take increased investments of DKK 2 billion a year for 15 years.
