New fees for Danske Bank customers
21. jan. 2013 13.21 EnglishDanske Bank introduced a new bank fee structure today.
The structure consists of six customer groups and two subscription models, with fees ranging from DKK 0 to 120 per quarter.
The rich pay nothing
According to Danske Bank’s director and head of personal banking, Tonny Thierry Andersen, small and medium-sized private customers will be charged “subscription” fees, while customers with more than DKK 750,000 in total banking business will pay nothing.
The changes aim to ensure greater profitability in the customer base.
In an example calculated by Danske Bank, it will be approximately DKK 300 more expensive per year for a single customer who is employed and does not have any loans or savings.
Large customers pay the least
In connection with the new fee structure, Danske Bank is also eliminating personal adviser services for small and medium-sized customers.
With the new model, Danske Bank also offers to cover some of its customers’ costs of consolidating their banking business with Danske Bank.
This includes the costs of transferring mortgages, car loans etc., which will be partially or fully paid by the bank. The largest customers pay the least in all of the examples presented by the bank.
Danske Bank is also launching a major collaboration with the insurance company Topdanmark and the real estate agency Home, which gives customers discounts on insurance and selling property, depending on the customer’s category.
