With commencement on 1st November 2013 or as per agreement Danish National Vocal Ensemble DR is seeking a contralto or deep male alto.
Audition for selected applicants on Saturday, 2nd of March 2013 from 10:30 AM at DR Byen in Copenhagen. In case you proceed, the second round will take place the same afternoon.

A pre-rehearsed choral setting selected by DR

A compulsary piece of music to be performed with the other contraltos of the Vocal Ensemble
Furthermore:

A strophic song or hymn in Danish (Danish lyrics) as free assignment to be performed as a soloist without accompaniment (as published in Folkehøjskolens sangbog)

An unrehearsed piece of music (prima vista)

Be prepared to demonstrate range and flexibility of the voice in vocal exercises

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the union agreement between the Danish Association of Professional Choruses and the Danish Broadcasting Corporation. Employment is subject to confirmation of residence and work permit in Denmark.
The annual salary is approx. DKK 354.000,- (approx. € 47.200,-).
Danish National Vocal Ensemble DR consists of 18 full-time employed singers. The choir is in service 32 weeks p.a. In its repertoire and presentation the individuality of the singers is sought emphasized, so that works with few or only 1 singer to a part will typically be found in the programme planning. Danish National Vocal Ensemble works with all epochs within the past 700 years, but special emphasis is on baroque music and contemporary music. The singers also normally participate when the Danish National Choir (74 singers) perform works for orchestra and choir, particularly at the Thursday Concerts of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra.
The 20 weeks without service are determined no later than 30th September of any given year for the following year. Flexible working hours and touring must be expected.
Besides working with the Principal Conductor the ensemble will be led by a number of the most renowned Danish and international conductors.
