Invisible Girls
DocumentaryA film about three girls who've never had a friend at school. They've been bullied and ignored for years and now they feel left out and lonely.
Yet they are strong girls with a drive to change - and a beginning understanding that maybe it is not their fault. They meet on the internet where they each create an avatar which is their on line identity. They support eachother through the journey of figuring out who they are, who they want to be and how to get there.
They are mature, have a sense of humour despite their situation and already know that no matter how much parents and teachers say they understand and want to help - they have no clue as to what it is like to be a teenager on the outside of everything. The girls know that if they want things to change, they have to do it themselves.
Through the film we see their transformation in to girls that are more selfconfident and happy - and who actually overcome their history of loneliness and get friends in school. The change happens through succes in theater, singing and dancing and for one girl by starting at a new school and for all of them through maturity and finding out that they are good enough.
And we see them as they all have a breakthrough towards what they long for.
We see the girls in real life scenes and in a beautiful, etherical animated world where their avatars meet and talk.
