Billie is six years old and is going on a skiing course. There is a lot to learn and even though she knows some of the other children, she is very excited. It is important to warm up before skiing and a good way of doing this is to play "tag". They also learn to control the skis, go in a straight line and to plough. But to use the ski lift makes all children a little scary, yet after practising first on the flat ground, it is no big deal. They just have to stand stiffly as a stick of ice. Billie should really like to jump with her skis on, and one day she feels really tough and then she does it. And jumps a long way. All the children have a lot of fun in the snow and, and they look forward to play in the snow and ski the whole winter through.
