Over a period of almost 50 years Arne Jacobsen created works within all aspects of the art of construction. And as an industrial designer he created lamps and furniture of which some of the chairs have become the most widespread designer furniture internationally, since World War II. Professionals compare Jacobson’s influence on the 20th century’s architecture to C.F. Hansen’s influence in the 19th century. That he was also amongst the most distinguished watercolour artists, completes the picture of a talented and incredibly busy man. On 11 February 2002, Arne Jacobsen would have had his 100th birthday.
