When The Blekinge Street Gang, a group of political activists, orchestrated a series of complex and daring robberies in the 1970s and 80s its activities shocked a nation. Strong ties to the PFLP and its extreme political ideology made the gang an unusual criminal organisation in a Europe caught up in fighting terror groups such as the German Rote Armee Fraktion and Italy's Red Brigades.
The Invisible Cell tells the authentic story of a group of young idealists who lost their grip on their own ethical principles. They staked their freedom, other people's lives and mobility in order to finance a cause they considered greater than themselves. They started as political activists but gradually became more and more involved in an organisation with multiple layers: some legal but others highly illegal. Some got out in time. Others stayed for some of the ride. And a handful went all the way.
