Original Title: Abortens Bagmænd
An Abortion Industry follows a pregnant reporter as she travels to Spain and makes an appointment at a respected private abortion clinic in Barcelona. She is 31 weeks pregnant and both the mother and the unborn baby are completely healthy. Despite this she can easily, for the price of 4.000 euro, get an abortion. And in front of the hidden camera, the head doctor explains how the abortions are performed; an injection is given to stop the heart of the foetus and thewoman gives birth to the dead foetus.
It is a paradox that Spain has become the centre of abortion tourism as this catholic country has one of the strictest laws on abortion in Europe. The documentary reveals how the doctors use a hole in the law to carry out large numbers of late term abortions on perfectly healthy women.
The documentary also introduces a young woman who explains how she, 7 months pregnant, decided to have an abortion at a Southern European clinic. A decision that women from
Germany, France, Holland, England, Italy also make every week....
The documentary exposes an industry with dubious ethics and morals, where rules are bent, and money has the final say.
