At the age of 10 the boy Anders is going to Greece with his father on holiday. But Anders' father is an alcoholic. The social services would certainly take Anders into care if they found out, so both father and son, cover up the problem as best they can.

They hardly arrive at the Greek hotel before Anders' father starts drinking heavily, and Anders looses track of the situation, when he realizes that he has nowhere to turn to.
