Education:
As a child and youngster, Nikolaj took piano
lessons from his father N.V. Bentzon, Mogens
Dalsgaard, Janne Savery, and Anker Blyme. In
1986, he graduated from Berklee College of Music
with a degree in Performance.

Bentzon:
At nineteen, Nikolaj Bentzon was elected “Best
Soloist at the Dunkerque Jazz Festival”.
In 1983, he was the first jazz musician to receive
the prestigious “Jacob Gade Award”.
He received the “Oscar Peterson Jazz Award”
at Berklee College of Music in 1985 and DJBFA’s
“Mark of Honor” in 1991.
Nikolaj Bentzon was a two-time prizewinner at
the “Annual International Jazz Theme Competition”
in Monaco as well as the winner of The European
Jazz Federation’s “Jazz Contest
1990.
