DR Big Band has played itself into the musical
heavyweight class in its more than forty years
of existence and it has written its way into
the annals of Danish and international jazz.
The band was formed in 1964 and has acted as
an ensemble for the international jazz elite
ever since, with chief conductors like Ib Glindemann,
Ray Pitts, Palle Mikkelborg, Thad Jones, Ole
Kock Hansen, Bob Brook-meyer and Jim McNeely.
