DR is Denmark's oldest and largest electronic media enterprise. The corporation was founded in 1925 as a public service organisation. DR is an independent, licence fee financed public institution providing news, culture, education, music and entertainment via television, radio, online services, mobile platforms and live events.
DR is managed by an executive board made up of 11 members, who are appointed for four years at a time, and by a management board chaired by the director-general.
Today DR is comprised of the following:

Radio channels: P1, P2, P3, P4 (including 10 regional channels), P5, P6 Beat, P8 Jazz.

Orchestras and choirs: Danish National Symphony Orchestra, DR Big Band, Danish National Vocal Ensemble, Danish National Concert Choir, Danish National Girls Choir, Danish National Children's Choir and Danish National Sprouts Choir.
